FAQs

What’s different about Iowa Stage Theatre Company?

Iowa Stage Theatre Company (ISTC) is one of two theater producers in Iowa who financially compensate our artists and include a Resident Artist Company who help shape our organization. Iowa Stage Theatre also partners with other arts organizations in the community to offer a variety of theater you won’t find anywhere else in central Iowa.

What is Scriptease?

Scriptease is ISTC’s play reading series, which takes place in conjunction with our mainstage shows. Learn more here.

When are the plays?

Our plays run from September to June. See the full season and performance schedule here.

Do you still to Shakespeare On The Lawn?

Shakespeare on the Lawn was presented by Salisbury House and Gardens until Spring 2020 when Salisbury made the difficult decision to discontinue it.  There is a keen interest in local Shakespeare programming and we're working to rebuild a more robust Shakespeare event. Follow updates at our Shakespeare page and on our social media.
