About The Play

A Holiday Classic

Join Iowa Stage Theatre Company's annual holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three spirits who help him have a Yuletide change of heart.

Facts About The Play

  • Michael Wilson’s version has run at the Alley Theatre in Houston for nearly thirty years

  • Designer Jay Jagim helped Wilson develop the script, and designed the premiere

  • Charles Dickens wrote the story in just 6 weeks. He started in October 1843, writing obsessively. He finished the novella at the end of November so it could be published in time for Christmas. A Christmas Carol hit the shops on December 17, 1843 and sold out in three days.
